The Senate Banking Committee voted to advance the nominations of Julia Gordon to serve as assistant secretary of Housing and Federal Housing commissioner, David Uejio to serve as assistant secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, Arthur Jemison as assistant secretary for Public and Indian Housing, Solomon Greene as assistant secretary for Policy Development and Research and Elizabeth de Leon Bhargava as assistant secretary for administration.

FHFA Calls for Revisions to GSE Duty to Serve Plans

The Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) announced its objections to Fannie Mae’s and Freddie Mac’s revised DTS Proposed Underserved Markets Plans for 2022-2024. Under the DTS rule, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac must prepare and submit three-year DTS plans detailing their activities to serve three underserved markets: manufactured housing; rural housing; and affordable housing preservation.

Democratic HFSC Members Send Letter to HUD, NY and Philadelphia Housing Authorities Regarding Deadly Fires

House Committee on Financial Services Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) and several Democratic Members of the Committee, including Reps. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), Ritchie Torres (D-NY), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Madeleine Dean (D-PA), sent letters to HUD Secretary Marcia Fudge, as well as to New York and Philadelphia housing authorities, local officials and property owners following the two recent fire-related tragedies.
